Preparing for your Firearms Qualification:
The final step in getting your Level 3 Security Training certificate completed.
Payment can be made upon arriving to the range.
– **Pistol Qualification**: $65 (Applicable for Level 3 and LTC Live Fire Only)
– **Shotgun Qualification**: $25 (Required only for Shotgun Qualification in Level 3)
– *Range fees are not included* (typically $15–$25, depending on the range used).
– **Firearm Rentals**: Handguns and shotguns are available for a fee (discuss with instructor)
**Required Items for the Live Fire Portion of Training**
– A printed copy of your PSB-30/PSB-31 or LTC Class Completion Certificate (Note: No additional fee will apply if you forget your paper copy. Send it to instructor via email after the range session).
**Clothing
a. Loose clothing is not recommended as it can allow for spent brass to fall between clothing and skin, causing burns.
b. Appropriate for the weather conditions
**Headwear
(1) protect from spent brass from other shooters
(2) sun or lights
**Footwear
a. Provide a stable platform
b. Non‐slippery sole
**Handgun**: The minimum caliber for Level 3 Security Qualification is 9mm.
(For LTC Live Fire, there is no minimum caliber requirement—.22 caliber handguns are acceptable. Whether you qualify with a semi-automatic or revolver, you will be licensed to carry both).
– Handguns must be clean, in good working condition, and transported in a case or holster
**Magazines**
-At least two empty magazines for semi-automatics are required.
**Ammunition**
– 50 rounds of pistol ammunition (for Level 3 and/or LTC).
– 9 rounds of “00” buckshot (for Level 3 Shotgun Live Fire).
**Items Provided**: Eye protection, hearing protection.
Feel free to bring your own eye and ear protection.
